75 degree tree hunting---Dec 8th
At the tree farm off King St. (i think)
Momma and her babies.
Alex wanted to have his picture taken with the blown over old tree.
When we got to the lower lot they ran right to this tree and wanted it so bad. They called it the Grizzwald Tree!!! =)
Thanks PaPaw Nelson for letting us borrow the "NN-148" to haul our tree home.
2012 Thanksgiving (Not the dinner =)
Alex and his Indian head dress.
They wanted to act out a "kill scene." ???? I guess Em had the bow.
After all the guests were gone and we started to eat left overs we found the wishbone that Granny Nelson left for the kids. They didn't quite get the idea (as you can tell from Alex's face).
We told them to "make a wish" and pull. As you can see Alex came away with the bigger piece of bone. We didn't tell them that "only" Alex's wish would come true now b/c his piece was bigger. I think Rob and I let it drop b/c we didn't want a fight or pouting to ruin our evening. =) Wise parents that we are.... LOL
Em's Bday- a little late
Em and her girls.
Steve is "roughing up his daughter" and MaMaw is like, "Steven, now stop, stop! You're going to hurt that baby!"
Eva showing her cousin a few movies. But look at that precious baby's smile. =)
The RANs
What's up with the face Em! Looks like she's about to chuck on the cake!
No words to say with this one. We will use these as blackmail in the future...
Aww this is too cute. I can't quite come up with a funny caption. Help?

Have you ever tried to hide from God's call on your life?
Moses did. He fled to the wilderness to get away. The hillside was a comfortable place; one that allowed him to live in obscurity. But God approached Moses as he tended sheep.
When God asked Moses to speak to Pharaoh on His behalf, Moses balked. He felt inadequate. He lifted up his weakness to God and submitted it as an excuse not to do as God asked. "My words get tangled," he said. (Exodus 4:10b NLT)
Yet years later in Acts 7:22, we find that Stephen described Moses as powerful in both speech and action.
How could this be? Did he truly struggle with his words, or was it an excuse?
As an Egyptian citizen and adopted member of the royal family, Moses had access to the finest education. As a young man he rose to the rank of prime minister, a task that required him to communicate with others. But Moses is believed to have had a true speech impediment.
He struggled to get the words out.
So when God approached Moses to join in an adventure to free His people from slavery, all Moses could think about was his weakness.
When Stephen described Moses, hundreds of years later, he had the advantage of seeing Moses' life span. He had heard of every act of courage and victory. Even in death, the name of Moses was revered among the nation of Israel.
Stephen knew when Moses spoke, though he may have stammered, his words carried weight.
The words Moses spoke were described as "life giving." (Acts 7:38 NLT) Moses' words mended arguments, offered justice, negotiated freedom and dispensed wisdom.
Only in hindsight do we see what Moses could not see in the beginning. God wasn't worried about Moses' lack of eloquence, vocabulary or skill, but whether or not Moses trusted God enough to obey.
Where Moses was deficient, God would be sufficient.
Where Moses struggled, God would succeed.
Where Moses was weak, God would be strong.
How many times does God invite us to follow Him into an adventure? Whether it is to be a great mom, or to lead a Bible study, or do anything outside our comfort zone, do we hold up our weaknesses and say, "Sorry, God, I can't," and then point out our weaknesses to Him.
In these instances, "My words get tangled" translates to:
I'm not patient, God, so don't ask me to be a good mom.
I don't like to be in the spotlight, God, so let someone else lead that study.
I'm afraid, God, so don't ask me to [fill in the blank].
When we look past our "tangled words" to His equipping, we find our answer.
What is God asking you to do? Have you been responding with your own version of, "My words get tangled"?
Are you willing to step out in obedience today?
Like Moses, only with hindsight will you one day see how your obedience shaped a child, or a neighbor or a nation.
Or you.
What do you stand to gain as you take the focus off your deficiency to trust in His sufficiency?
Dear Lord, You know my very real weakness. But I am excited to respond to Your voice today. With You all things are possible, so I step out in faith beginning today. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

October Happenin's
For Word of Life dress up night Alex was Daniel. He even has a couple lions that had their mouths closed by the Lord.
Emily was Ruth.
Here's the suit that Rob and Alex got on the night that Emily and I went to Jeanie's party.
Pretty nice "hocky pucks" thanks to a little help from Bisquick.
Here's our dinner the other night. Scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and sausage gravy. The gravy is something that I'm always trying to improve on. Thankfully I don't make this very much, but I think I was pretty close to Dad's gravy. Mmmmmm!
Em and Alex in front of our burning bush. They're growing up so quickly.

Ok, one more- "Come Home"
"Come Home" is also in our Christmas musical. This song comes right after the other song that I posted. I mean it's a double whammy! I think this one hits me harder that the other. If you come to the performance don't look at me b/c I'll be the one that's a mess crying up in the choir loft. Again listen to the words and allow them to speak to your heart. There is a message in these words.

"Orphans of God" - A Christmas song to come...
http://youtu.be/9BkN-4NYQj0
Here is a link to a song that is part of our GRBC Christmas musical. This song breaks me EVERY time I practice it. It's preformed by one of my favorite "old school" groups Avalon. I wish they were still together. These people have some pipes!!!!! Let the words speak to you. No matter how far we've "fallen away" from the fellowship of God - there are NO orphans of God. Remember that! =...)

Disney Take 6
This was our vey last autograph of the day in EPCOT. We had to tell the kids WHO this lady was. She even talked Brittish! Mary Poppins told Emily to stand just like her for the picture. =)
Night time pool time later that night. Guess who was doing laundry and fighting all the other moms in the small laundry facilities. =)
Here we are at Hollywood Studios.
While we stood in line for 50+ minutes for Woody and Buzz we got some cute pictures. Here's one of Emily being blasted off on the rocket.
Sully and Mike from Monster's Inc.
The kids with the New York skyline in the background. =) (not really though)

Disney Take 5
Here are a few pictures from our hotel. We stayed in the Dalmations area but we HAD to go get pics with the Toy Story peeps.
Em got a pic with Mullan. (she's wasn't very Asian...)
We waited in line for 35+ minutes to meet this couple. I love this pic of Em with Aladdan Alex didn't want to have anything to do with them b/c he thought it was just going to be Jasmine. But when Aladan (sp?) came out and they started to sign both autograph books they wanted to know who the other book belonged to and they got Alex out of his stroller and they took the picture below. It was a good visit. =)
They were the best character look alikes!
